My sister came home today unannounced as usual. It is Memorial Day weekend and I don't know how long she will be staying, but she does have the summer off from having to teach at ASU. She gave our bedridden father a haircut for the first time and it turned out great. It looks better than my mom's version and my mom cuts hair for a living. She had some practice during the Covid lockdown with her boyfriend's hair.

I almost lost my iPhone today. I left it in the bathroom stall at school and then went to class to teach. Shortly after, a faculty member from the English department came and I thought it was a student at the door because class was about to start. It was a colleague who knew who I was. She knew I was on campus and which room I was in because she called the school to check.

I felt so incredibly lucky today because it would have been quite sad to have lost my phone. It is one of those rare times when I feel glad to not have a passcode on my phone.

Dad's Friend

I've been thinking about my dad's friend and how he's doing. Today, he called my dad and we chatted for a bit. We talked about my dad and my caregiving. I'm happy my dad's friend is still in relatively good health based on his voice. I like how he tries to give advice when I tell him what my dad has trouble with.
