I've been noticing the past few days that every time my dad coughs loudly, it is because there is a problem - he is sitting/lying in the same position for too long, sweating from being covered too long with a blanket, and/or because he is sitting/lying in urine. He is not able to speak, so I think this is his way of communicating. As soon as I change him and have him sit or lie in a different position, he stops coughing.

Five Minutes

My dad could hold on to the treadmill and walk at the slowest speed for about a minute or two without me holding him. If I hold him so he wouldn't fall, I could push for about five minutes. Also, he only looks down at one direction to the right as he concentrates on not slipping, and he still tiptoes. I think his neck is still stiff.

“The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself.”
