Family

Tonight at around 11:30 pm I went into my dad's room to check on him and he was still awake while my mom was already asleep. He was looking at the well lit clock I had hung up on the wall. I asked him, "Dad, you are not asleep yet are you?" He nodded in agreement with a soft yes through his mouth. Then I asked what he was thinking even though he couldn't speak. To my surprise, he tried to say something and I made him repeat himself, but the words that came out were unclear no matter how many times he repeated the words. I then said, "Did you say family, dad?" He nodded and said, "Yes".

We were all able to spend time together with my mom and siblings a few hours prior.
