Alertness

My dad sat in a reclining chair watching TV tonight at around midnight on New Year's Eve. He watched nonstop for a few hours. I happened to have Vietnamese comedy skits on and I was sitting near him, at my computer doing work, where he could see me. I don't know if he understood much, but he looked alert looking at the screen. He did not smile or laugh (without sound) like he did last year.
