Mom's Sister

One of my mom's younger sisters keeps in touch with us often from Vietnam. She tried to reach me a few days ago. I called her back tonight and wished her a Happy Lunar New Year. We talked for an hour or two about all kinds of things. She is her 60s and learning all kinds of things including how to sew business attire. She learned how to drive and how to make Vietnamese desserts. Now she is in the mood to learn French again because she used to take French when she was in high school. I encourage her to be active and continue learning anything she wants and anything she can. I'm always grateful that she no longer has kidney failure. She credits her full recover to a miracle from a prayer with a well-known Catholic priest in Vietnam, Father Long, whom she went to see in person at a public event.

“The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself.”
