In the early hours of the morning last night, my dad was feeling uncomfortable for some reason because he kept coughing. I got up to help him. I came up close to his face, looked into his eyes and said, "Dad, do you want me to lie next to you?" To my surprise, he nodded and said in Vietnamese, "Ờ" which means yes. A few seconds later I asked again by whispering into his ear to see if could say anything, and to my surprise again, he nodded and spoke clearer in Vietnamese, "Ờ ờ". I did ask a third time, but he didn't/couldn't say anything. Then I set up a spot so I could lie next to him. He fell asleep shortly after and did not cough for the rest of the night.
